A call to SRT Supply on Tuesday had an Atlas BT10-NC bipod and BT19 spigot in my hand on Thursday evening. I had been using a Harris bipod modified by LaRue to clamp to a Picatinny rail. The Harris design locks the legs rigidly in place, resulting in them skidding across the groups when the rifle slides back in recoil. The Atlas offers some play in the hinges. When the legs are pre-loaded, the mount can move backward a few centimeters during recoil while the legs stay put. This should result in less rifle movement during firing. We’ll find out for sure this weekend.
