I couldn’t mount the IOR 6x42 of my Browning A-Bolt far forward enough to always see the whole field of view when shooting prone. Installing an A-Bolt Picatinny rail seems to have solved the problem, as it provides room to mount the front ring slightly farther forward. Originally, I played around with increasing the length of pull via spacers, but this had the drawback of complicating trigger and bolt operation.

This is one of the great things about the LaRue LT-104 mount that I got for my new AR-15: it puts the scope way forward. They make the LT-139 if you need it even farther forward.
