Third-party lens manufacturers make numerous worthwhile lenses that often fill gaps in Nikon’s lens lineup or present less expensive alternatives to their offerings. Sadly, one thing that third-party lens manufacturers can’t do is build a decent rear lens cap. All of the Sigma and Tamron lenses l own shipped with a rear lens cap that requires you to line up an arrow on the cap to a marking on the lens. Try doing this in dim light when you’re in a hurry. No way! With Nikon’s LF-1, you simply push the cap against the rear of the lens, turn, and it locks into place. I’ve ordered one for each of my lenses and have a couple of spares on hand.
